The Favourite Is Dead
Twitter killed the favourite today, replacing it with a heart, acting as a ‘like’ to all intents and purposes.
Predictably there has been a lot of uproar. Understandably so too.
A favourite had many guises.
It acted as a bookmark to save something to read later.
It acted as a means of acknowledging something that you couldn’t quite be bothered to reply to and weren’t so enamored that you wanted to retweet it to your following.
It didn’t necessarily mean that you liked something or endorsed it.
